SEAN HOPWOOD
Sean Patrick Hopwood is a polyglot, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for cultural understanding. As President, CEO, and Founder of Day Translations, Inc., Sean has built a global language services empire from the ground up, driven by a singular mission: promoting world peace through education, tolerance, and cultural awareness.
A first-generation American of Lithuanian ancestry, Sean's passion for languages began in childhood. Growing up in Bartow, Florida—a diverse community with a significant Latino population—he started learning Spanish at age eight. By the time he finished high school, Sean was already fluent in Spanish and French, with foundational knowledge of Lao and Thai.
His exceptional talent earned him an award at the State Spanish Competition in Orlando for distinguished Spanish acting skills and language achievement. Today, Sean speaks seven languages with varying degrees of fluency: English, Spanish, French, Arabic, German, Hebrew, and Portuguese.

EDUCATION & EXPERTISE
Academic Foundation
Sean attended the University of South Florida (USF), majoring in Spanish while taking additional courses in Arabic and French. His academic excellence led him to pursue an MBA with a focus on International Business, Economics, and Entrepreneurship.
Heritage & Values
Sean's father was a Lithuanian immigrant, and his mother is an English teacher and self-proclaimed Francophile. His grandfather, Francis Day—an ex-Marine officer—taught Sean the values of hard work, professionalism, and respect that define Day Defense today.

Day Translations Founded
After completing entrepreneurial courses and gaining invaluable experience, Sean Hopwood established Day Translations from the ground up. The company was named in honor of his grandfather, Francis Day, whose legacy of discipline and professionalism became the foundation of the company's core values.
Rapid Growth & Recognition
Day Translations quickly established itself as a formidable competitor in the language services industry. The company expanded from one office to eleven domestic and international locations, including Tokyo, Dubai, and Seoul. By 2015, Day Translations was ranked fifth in the Top Ten Reviews list.
Service Diversification
Under Sean's leadership, Day Translations continuously innovated, expanding beyond traditional services. The company introduced cutting-edge localization services, voice-over and subtitling for entertainment, and comprehensive immigration services in all languages.
Day Defense Established
Building on 19 years of excellence, Day Defense was established as a specialized division to serve defense contractors, military units, intelligence agencies, and government operations. With TS/SCI cleared linguists, FISMA-compliant infrastructure, and 24/7 operational capability, Day Defense provides secure translation and tactical interpretation services.
